HYPERTENSIVE RETINOPATHY

This patient had acutely elevated blood pressure, which caused intratetinal hemorrhages, cotton-wool spots, lipid exudation, and macular edema. Sometimes these changes can be due to veneous occlusive disease. however, in this case, it was due to a hypertensive microangiopathy, as indicated by the resolved state after the blood pressure was medically controlled.
